Teaching & Learning
The education of STIC is student oriented rather than class centered. Therefore, a restricted number of 25 students per class are maintained.
Our academic field has been benefited by introducing new methods of teaching, nurtured by our dedicated tutorial staff who voluntarily work for extended class hours. School officially starts at 7.20 a.m. and ends at 2.15 p.m. This gives students the opportunity to work hard and harness the maximum benefits possible. Nevertheless, the opportunity does not end there. STIC students who need help in their studies are given special coaching. Extra attention is paid to enable them to hone their skills, after regular school hours until 3.30 p.m., thus helping them keep up with the rest of the class.
We do not condone the practice of private tuition and instead identify students who are weak in their studies and conduct after school classes to enable them to keep up with the curriculum. We urge parents to resist falling into the trap of a competitive mentality and waste their time and wealth to have their children tutored privately. This would only tax and burden the students if they persist in pursuing private tuition. We assure you that we will take care of the formation of the students and will work to eradicate this insidious concept of private tuition.
Introduction of weekend worksheets for major subjects like Mathematics, Science and English are typical examples of the commitment and enthusiasm of Thomian teachers.
